GLDPartners appoints Eric C. Peterson Policy and Public Funding Solutions Advisor

(Phoenix, AZ)   Today, GLDPartners announced the creation of a new policy and public funding solutions practice with Eric Peterson, a Washington, D.C. policy veteran, as its lead.

From GLDPartners Washington DC office, Eric and the GLDPartners team will provide a range of services including trade and infrastructure policy, legislative advice, funding strategies and representation.   Managing Partner Adam Wasserman said “Eric’s extraordinary background and demonstrated leadership provides GLDPartners an extremely strong platform to create new value for our public and private clients”.   Peterson added, “I am excited to be working with GLDPartners. Peterson brings a senior background in transport policy, project finance, infrastructure development, project management, regulatory affairs, congressional relations, and coalition building. Peterson has extensive knowledge of transportation, transportation policy and research, infrastructure, economic development and finance. He has held senior leadership roles in government and with various transportation advocacy organizations.

Peterson has authored research papers, journal articles and book chapters on transportation issues including the funding and financing of infrastructure improvements, public/private partnerships, intercity and high-speed passenger rail, and economic development.

He has experience in the public and private sectors at all levels in the US and before various multi-lateral international organizations. He initiated, organized, and executed the creation of a public/private partnership (P3) that funds and finances the first phase of the Washington Metro Rail’s largest expansion since its inception. He has reorganized and established strategic plans for three federal agencies including all of the U.S. Department of Transportation’s modal research programs, and has played an active role in obtaining reauthorization of numerous federal agencies including the U.S. Department of Transportation.

An active member of the Transportation Research Board of the National Academies of Science, the Eno Center for Transportation, the Transportation Research Forum and the American Public Transportation Association, Eric’s other transportation-related engagements include the promotion of green technology for unpaved and utility roads, advancing intelligent transportation systems including V2V, PTC, and NextGen aviation navigation systems.   Previously, Eric was involved with the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, the Arlington County, Virginia Economic Development Commission, the Mineta Transportation Institute at San Diego State University, the Miller Center for Public Policy at the University of Virginia, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

Eric has a Masters in public communication from Boston University and a Bachelors political science from Nebraska Wesleyan University
