Infrastructure Assessment Tool
The adequacy of key infrastructure is immediately pertinent to a region’s economic development competitiveness. We know this is more than theoretical and that real-world projects have quite specific requirements. Most communities and economic development organizations recognize the importance of infrastructure generally but few are able to translate to: 1) measurable competitiveness and specific business development targeting, and 2) real value when making the case for additional public (and private) infrastructure investment.
GLDPartners has deep experience in reviewing community infrastructure systems and understanding condition, capacity, location, redundancy and service-level costs. Our Infrastructure Assessment Tool (IAT) provides a top to bottom review of key infrastructure, and when stood alongside a given the community’s competitiveness profile, makes specific recommendations for enhancement, renewal or expansion. Our IAT also reviews service-level issues as our reviews are not solely focused on hard assets. Hard assets with poor service levels (in the case of rail service for example) are a related and important issue.
Where appropriate, GLDPartners will make recommendations regarding system investment strategies including packaging investment justification to public sources and also public-private finance solutions.
