I-40 TradePort Corridor

Project:The I-40 TradePort Corridor is a transformational national-scale project that has been purpose-planned as an integrated transcontinental high-efficiency logistics | investment | clean energy system.  Interstate 40 is a critical North American logistics corridor as it connects important supply chain hubs in the US west, south and southwest markets to California and to global markets through the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach.  Phase 1 of the project extends 805 miles from the southern California seaports complex through Arizona and into New Mexico.  Subsequent TradePort phases will extend into Texas and Midwest and Southern markets.

Description: The I-40 TradePort Corridor will ultimately stretch over 2000 miles from the busiest seaports complex in the Western Hemisphere eastward to key supply chain points through the US. The I-40 TradePort Corridor integrates ocean, road, rail and air cargo movements into one logistics, transportation fueling/charging and industrial investment system. This new system creates efficiencies for shippers that result in cost reduction and transit time and increases in reliability. Due to enhanced logistics connectivity TradePorts will be hubs for manufacturing and distribution facility investment.

The Corridor is being built via an innovative public-private partnership including a range of private investors in the logistics, infrastructure, and energy sectors, and a blend of public partners including the federal government, and state and local governments. The USDOT has designated the TradePort Corridor a project of national importance. In addition, the partnership includes several leading academic research institutions. The Corridor is designed as a global model for utilizing next-generation logistics and data technologies to support a high-efficiency system
